Groups and organizations across the Rensselaer campus can contact the Archer Center to consult about any variety of leadership topics. One on one meetings or group consultation are available.

Emerging Leaders Program

Emerging Leaders is a series of four meetings designed to facilitate leadership development in first year students. The program is co-facilitated by the Archer Center and the Office of the First-Year Experience and serves to provide first-year students with an opportunity to develop a foundation of leadership skills and knowledge. For more information on the program and on how to apply: Emerging Leaders Program

In-Class Learning Experiences

Archer Center staff are invited by faculty into classrooms to facilitate activities designed to emphasize the importance of teamwork in group projects.

Leadership House

Leadership House, a residential community for first-year students, is designed to enhance students’ leadership skills while empowering them to become more effective leaders in any class, community, or organization. The program will provide approximately 40 students with opportunities to explore fundamental leadership topics through fun, hands-on activities and interactive workshops while living together on a floor in a first-year residence hall. For additional information about the program and how to apply please see the Leadership House Website.

Professional Leadership Alumni Network

The Professional Leadership Alumni Network (PLAN) was founded in 2004 by a motivated team of PLP graduates. These members saw an opportunity to unite past, present, and future leaders and took the initiative to create the PLAN.

Slice of Leadership

These short workshops are designed to cover basic information on a variety of leadership topics. Participants discuss valuable skills to assist in individual leadership development. You may attend just one session, or attend them all. Pre registration is required.
